Thank you for your interest in PAWS Assistance Dogs. It takes up to two years, sometimes more, before a PAWS dog meets his/her match. During this journey, there is much to be done. Sometimes it is working directly with our cadets in training, raising awareness in the community through education and outreach programs, as well as fund raising. Each job is important and requires commitment, and each job demands the best suited applicant to successfully complete the mission at hand. Volunteer duties include:
Can you commit to 10 hours of hands-on-training with a PAWS trainer and 3 hours shifts at the PAWS training academy on weekdays? Puppy Handlers assist in basic puppy care and training at the academy. (Minimum physical fitness standards apply)
PAWS Ambassador Team
Can you commit to a flexible schedule to assist with event coordination, projects and administrative support?
Do you have public speaking experience and would like to learn about the PAWS mission to share it with our community?
Are you an Experienced fundraiser, grant writer or PR professional who would like to volunteer your time and talents?
Puppy Raiser Families
Are you able to open your home and heart to a future service dog by fostering a puppy cadet in your home? Families are asked to help a puppy learn basic obedience skills before beginning their advanced training.
